The Galileo Thermometer, invented by Galileo Galilei in the 17th century is a thermometer made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid and a series of sealed glass balls with different densities which could rise or fall as the temperature changes. By doing that, the balls form a temperature scale.
This 28cm tall Galileo Thermometer consists of 6 balls and is accurate for a temperature range between 18°C to 28°C.
This thermometer is the same size and shape as our 28cm Fitzroy's Storm Glass, and they make an attractive pair on the windowsill.
